GOVERNMENT HOUSE.
HONGKONG. 10th August, 1921.

With reference to your despatch No.399 of the
16th November, 1920, I have the honour to inform you that
I have approved of the retirement on medical grounds of
Nursing Sister H. E. Williams.
On her arrival in the Colony on the 24th
January, 1921, Miss Williams was admitted to hospital, and
did not assume duty until one month later. She continued
to receive treatment with a view to the re-establishment of
her health, but on the 13th June it was necessary for her to
be re-admitted to hospital. She was then examined by a
Medical Board which reported that her lungs were affected
and that the organisms of tuberculosis were present in great
number. The Board recommended that she should be invalided
from the service as early as possible.
Miss Williems, who left on the 6th August, wee provided with a passage to England, and I approved the grant to her of vacation leave of 22 days from the date of her
departure.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient humble servant,
